Isle of Man TT Course: here's a really good YouTube video of a BMW R1150GS at the Isle of Man (where there's no speed limit on the mountain). This video gives you an accurate impression of what it's like to ride one of these 85 hp, air-cooled, twin cylinder, multi-purpose bikes. They take a while to get up to speed, but their amazing suspension allows them to go really quickly through the bends.

Nurburgring: here's a YouTube video of the motorcycle record holder Helmut Dähne on a Yamaha R1 riding the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit, with commentary.

Rides done

March. 2008, BMW Club Ride: I took my R1150GS out to play on dirt roads (it's something I do from time to time). I had fun, but one poor bugger got a flat tyre. Sorry, no YouTube video, but here's a Google map of where we went. The puncture happened 20 km past Marysville and it couldn't be repaired on the road (pinched sidewall), so the rider had to backtrack 20 km with a flat front tyre. I volunteered to ride with him, and didn't finish the planned route. Maybe next time.

Feb. 2008, Track day at Broadford: I took my R1150GS out to play on a racetrack (it's something I do from time to time). I had fun, but one poor bugger toasted his bike. See the video was posted on YouTube. And just in case you don't recognize me, here's a PDF, with me circled.
