Original recipe from a really old newspaper cutting ... not sure of origin

Heat oil in large, heavy 13-inch (33-cm) oven-proof frypan. Add chicken pieces in batches, and brown. Drain off excess oil. |

Add garlic, shallots, parsley and thyme to chicken in frypan. Pour wine over chicken. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover and bake at 325 F (160 C) for 1-1/2 hours or until chicken is cooked and garlic soft. Remove chicken from frypan and place on serving platter. Place frypan over medium high heat until liquid is reduced by half. |

Pour sauce over chicken and sprinkle with chopped parsley. |
